About Rupert
Rupert Thorpe has been shooting News and Features for over 25 years. Rupert started shooting professionally at sixteen while still at college studying an International Baccalaureate in Photography at Richmond Upon Thames College in London. He ran the picture desk of a photo agency in London before joining U.K’s famous “The Sun” Newspaper as one of the picture editors.
After three years he headed to Los Angeles to focus on celebrity news. He has since been shooting News, features and portraits for a number of international Newspapers and Magazines covering big news stories such as, the Southern Border Crisis, the threat to Artic Circle Polar Bears, the January 2025 fires in Los Angeles, Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.
Rupert also owns Social Photo Booths, he lends his extensive photographic talents to event photography and photo booth rentals in Southern California. Rupert married Michelle Day, an accomplished celebrity portrait photographer, in 2001. They make an amazing team in life and in work.
